AHEPA Marks Veterans Day

AHEPA commemorated Veterans Day as Supreme President Jimmy Kokotas, accompanied by Ahepans from Indiana and Illinois, visited the Indiana War Memorial Plaza in Indianapolis and laid a wreath at a memorial at St. Demetrios Church, Hammond, Ind. From there, Supreme President Kokotas travelled to Chicago to place a wreath at the Hellenic American Veterans Memorial. He also visited with Past Supreme President A. Steve Betzelos, a World War II veteran. 
Also on Veterans Day, AHEPA Veterans Committee Chairman retired U.S. Army Colonel Nicholas P. Vamvakias, accompanied by Executive Director Basil Mossaidis, led an initiative to lay wreaths at the World War I and World War II Monuments in Washington, DC. They were joined by Ambassador of Greece to the U.S. Alexandra Papadopoulou and Minister of Civil Protection Takis Theodorikakos. The group also visited the gravesite of World War I Medal of Honor Recipient George Dilboy, the first Greek American to be awarded with the Medal of Honor, at Arlington National Cemetery.

The Athenian magazine named Supreme President Jimmy Kokotas as one of its 2021 “Men of Influence.” The special tribute feature appears in the November 2021 issue.
In the spread, Supreme President Jimmy Kokotas presents his views on Covid-19’s impact on the current state of the business environment, on what qualities a business manager should possess, and on what geopolitical factors impact his work in private business.
